Description

This thing is a hubcap that happens to fit a certain 1997 model F-150. The scad file is included, which might make it possible to customize for other wheels. But flanged lug nuts are required. The hub cap prints with an embedded nut. Mine uses #8-32 nuts. The print must be paused, then insert the nuts, then continue the print. The print height required for the pause is printed out like this: ECHO: "Pause Hub Cap print. Insert nuts! At top of nut slot: at z= 1497 Thou. or 38.0238 mm." I used PETG to print the main hubcap. Supports are REQUIRED! But I used a high temperature filament, Prusament PC Blend, to print the clips. Wheels are subjected to high temperatures. To assemble, I used #8 socket head screws by 1/2" length. The hubcap presses on to the flanges of the lug nuts. To remove, you MUST pry at the indicated reinforced point on the drawing. The main skirt will break if you pry it. The top surface is flat. You might want to print a logo or text on it using your slicer. The scad file is included.
