Description

For smaller prints use the previous version : https://www.printables.com/model/163971-moon-rocket A famous comics character's moon rocket. No need for screw, no extra part, no support, no gluing, self assembling and self standing. This model is aimed for big size. I printed mine in PLA on a Prusa i3 MK3. No multi-material needed, all parts are single colored. 28/10/2024 update : Parts are now with no inner flat surface in order to avoid artifacts on the vertical outer shell. The STL file object height is only ~6cm, scale up to your desired size: Up to ~ 77cm tall rocket is possible with a Prusa Mini: scale up at 1200% Up to ~ 100cm tall rocket is possible with a Prusa i3 MK3/4: scale up at 1500% Up to ~ 1.6 meter tall rocket is possible with a Prusa XL: scale up at 2500% Up to ~1.8 meter (!) tall rocket with a Neptune 4 Max: scale up at 2900% Scales less than 400% gives very fragile parts. See pictures for a placement/orientation example. The wings are tricky to print. The part should not wrap and stay stick to the bed. Use large brims. Need a good tolerance calibration of your printer/slicer. Some material weight and time can be saved by printing few or one perimeter, however keep an eye on the material opacity, in order to not expose the infill structure by transparency. The rod.stl and all the other STL files are in millimeters , don't convert them to inches if Slic3r asks you. I used a 12v GU4 led bulb for the light. The flame and the Mach diamonds has to be printed with transparent filament, no infill and a single perimeter. Diamonds lock into the flame waves from the smaller to the bigger. For 1500% scaled rockets, see the following remix for a GU4 12v LED light bulb : https://www.printables.com/model/733752-huge-moon-rocket-gu4-light-bulb different sizes : Assembly video :
AI Analysis: This is a detailed sculptural representation of a rocket designed for lunar exploration, featuring a distinctive red and white checkered pattern. The rocket is illuminated from within, casting a warm glow that highlights its form and the textured surface of the landing base. It is positioned on a simulated lunar surface, with a - structure visible in the background, suggesting a blend of artistic and engineering inspiration.
