Description
The Hybrid Betweener Tired of having to swap betweeners depending on the material you are printing and its ventilation needs? And where do I keep the spare betweeners when they are not in use? This project aims to provide the only betweeners you'll ever need. These betweeners print in two parts – an outer shell that slots into the riser corner pieces, and an inner core that slots into the shell. The result is a betweener with ventilation holes that can be opened/closed easily by sliding a toggle. Printing: I printed these in PLA, but I expect other materials would also work fine. Each betweener is an assembly of two parts: Outer Shell: Print orientation: Because of its inside slot, the “shell” part must be printed in the vertical orientation. Supports: this part printed just fine without supports, though I did opt to add a brim to ensure good build plate adhesion due to its small footprint. Infill: I printed these at 100% infill, though you could probably reduce that without compromising the part. Wall Loops: 3 Inner Core: Print Orientation: The core should be printed laid flat on the plate, toggle fin facing upwards Supports: No supports needed Infill: I recommend printing these at 100% infill. Wall Loops: 3 Assembly: Pretty self explanatory. Just slot the core into the shell from the top, lining up the core's toggle fin with its cutout in the shell.
