Description
I liked the original concept but it seemed rather flimsy unless you fused the parts together. Included a locking ring which just fits along the outside making the parts stick together. Below is a summery written by the original creator "ffrroogg" Please like his work! ===============From original post================== Summary ================== Update ================== Added a version of the base that you can write the name of the plant on - or use a standard 12mm x 40mm label. ================== Description ================== Forget Benchies - the real torture test for 3D printing is hydroponic pods. The standard geometry is simple, but extremely difficult for a 3D printer, given the thinness of the legs if you want to maintain a large open area for root growth. I couldn't find a design that I loved, and thus, I throw my hat into the hydroponic pod thunder-dome. ================== Instructions: ================== Print the 3 pieces separately. If you need to use a glue-stick to help adhesion, remember to wash it off before using the basket in your planter. Assemble as shown in the diagram. ================== Design features: ================== The top circle is contiguous, so it prevents plants from tipping over. The basket legs are printed with continuous-flow, so it's much stronger than designs where the seam lines make the basket weak. The basket is made from 2 interlocking U's, which is held in place by the geometry of the hydroponic lid itself. When it's time to pull the pod out of the planter, the basket legs can be easily removed. I modeled this on my hydroponic garden which claims to be aerogarden-compatible. No guarantees on that part, but feel free to remix/scale to your heart's content. Developed and tested on an Ender 3V2. Gaps at 0.2mm, so any basic printer should do fine.
