Description
Building on the original silica gel box design by 3D_Workspace , this alternative lid is made to use the common snap-in disc hygrometer / thermometer modules (with 45mm face diameter and 16mm total height.) The module should clip in easily and fit fairly snug. If removing to change the battery, it's best to push out from underneath as these may come apart if pulled. When assembled, it will add about 15mm to the total container height, compared to using the original lid. The examples shown here are with the original “50g_v2” and "75g_v2" box models, which with remixed lids and hygrometers installed, measure heights of 67.2mm and 87.2mm respectively. These might not be ideal heights for your use, but I did not want to remix the box design - leaving that to whoever wants a specific height. Printing Notes The screw thread seems to print best with around 0.15mm layers. (Likewise for the boxes.) To save some print time, variable layer height can be used. The bed contact area is quite small, so an inner brim may help for better bed adhesion. Examples shown were printed with 0.4mm nozzle, in PETG.
