Description
Immersive gaming chair with 5.1 Surround Sound, I've used the 2 inch Logitech speakers from the previous speaker sets and a subwoofer that I had lying around and I've used a 5.1 channel digital audio decoder I got off of AliExpress for 85 dollars, started with the HD Audio Rush Decoder but the quality was unacceptable and I've used 3 stereo / two channel digital amplifiers I also got off AliExpress for $5 each and a 12-volt 4 amp power supply I had already so the systems is approximately 8 watts of channel, as the speakers are close to your ears the volume is adequate Added new surround rear speaker mounts to direct the sound towards ears Added 2 new 3" / 80mm subs to the back baseboard in parallel the seat sub, one mid back and the other just above the extra padding at the base of the back board Mounting: I have used 2 pieces of wood to mount the front left and right and also the center (400mm x40mmx15mm), my gaming chair large piece of wood as the back support. I have used self-tapping screws though the wood mounts and into the back support inside the chair make sure the screws are not too long so they cant stick you in the back. the left and right surround speaker mount directly into the chair's backboard, the subwoofer is mounted on the chair's seat / baseboard with round riser so the cone does not hit the seat baseboard the back of the sub is open. the sub transmits a lot of vibration into seat board and the rest of the speakers transmit vibration to the seat back board. Immersion factors; The Sub / all speakers transmitting vibration into the chair. Front and rear, left and right speakers pointing directly at ears. Center highs boost bom: 5 small speakers 2" / 50mm 1 sub woofer 4" / 100mm to 8" / 200mm 5.1 DTS / Dolby encoder 6 channel amplifier (3 x stereo class D amps) Power supply to suit amps typically 12-24 volts 5 amps per amp speaker wire. power wire and audio cables notes; Amps. I used amps with bass, middle and treble tone controls and and volume control to ensure i could compensate for none standard speaker placement. Power supply. basically the output power is about 90% of the power supply divided by the 6 channels i would not recommend using a supply over 12 Volts @ 4 amp and about 8 watts per channel to minimize the risk of damage to small speaker and hearing these are searches for the components i used not affiliate links https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-UD851B-5.1-Decoders-USB-Player-Memory.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.search.0 https://www.amazon.com/s?k=UD851B https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-XH%2525252dM577-TPA3116D2-Audio-High-Power-Tone-Op-Amps.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.search.0 https://www.amazon.com/s?k=XH-M577+TPA3116D2+Audio+High+Power+Tone A home theater receiver can be used instead of the 5.1 encoder / 6 channel amp / power supply https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFkWky1Q2Bc
