Jeep Cherokee XJ (pre-96) Center Console Gauge Pod or Switch Panel

DESCRIPTION This is a gauge pod intended to replace the tray at the front of a pre-96 Jeep XJ center console. Its designed to fit a 2-1/16" gauge and still preserve a little storage space. There is a hole for a set screw on the side to secure the gauge; M3x6 machine screw (no heat insert required). Included are; a modified version for 5 rocker switches as well as the blank panel. PRINTING I chose to use PLA and have not had any issues over the two years its been installed. That location doesn't get too hot or see very much direct sunlight. But if I could do it again, I'd probably go with a PETG or even an ASA. I also chose to print the little tray insert in two parts and then plastic weld them into place with a soldering iron rather than print the entire thing in one shot but I was using a pretty old printer at the time. INSTALLATION The original tray is secured to the center console with four tabs that were fused by melting the plastic together. Using a soldering iron I was able to melt and separate the components. This new gauge pod is designed to use that same method, again with a soldering iron to fuse the plastic tabs together.
