Description
As an ol' guy, I needed more light to see into the dark cavern of the K1C. I first built Joe Coopers excellent hinged lid to get access for filament changes. When I started to figure out where to put more light strips, I realized the only way was upwards. I remastered Joe's design in Fusion, and extended the heights. This model can use his original inbetweeners for the lower level. I remade them with hex vent holes and filled in the area vacated by moving the filament tube to exit through the right rear pillar on the rear inbetweener. There are two right rear pillars in the files, choose the one you want, either with or without the hole for the filament tube. Quantities of parts required are listed in the title of each part. I did not put a light bar in the rear for fear of blinding the camera. As built there are no flares in the stock camera position. The slots in the upper inbetweeners are set up for common 10 mm LED light strips of 24 volts DC available from various sources. Fun little project and so far very durable. Mine was printed in SUNLU Silver PLA+ with normal settings. The pillars need Qty(4) 30mm long by 3mm screws. For hinge pins I used #10 solid copper wire from a short length of ROMEX wire. I bent it in an "L" shape and crimped it a bit in the middle to get a tight fit in the cover hinge. I glued in the corner wire covers with gel superglue.
