Description
I modified the original Umikot 54mm to a single-piece upper for direct use with the Crema Coffee Products 54mm dosing funnel (https://www.amazon.com/Crema-Coffee-Products-Compatible-Portafilters/dp/B081R2CH7M/). I found that with the 54mm Breville stock portafilter with a 17g dose, the grounds would often overflow when using the original Umikot design. Modifying this to work over a dosing funnel allowed all the grounds to stay contained. The lengths of the acupuncture needles should be shortened by 1.5mm from 65mm → 63.5mm and 55mm → 53.5mm.
AI Analysis: This object is a mechanical part designed for coffee brewing, specifically as a direct dosing funnel. It features a knurled texture for improved grip and is intended to guide liquid into a coffee maker's portafilter. The component is made from a durable material and has a cylindrical shape with multiple slots for precise dosing.
