Description
This project provides a simple and effective solution to a common problem with silicone ice sphere molds: leakage before freezing. Many commercially available molds fail to seal properly, causing significant water loss during handling and transfer to the freezer. This design eliminates that issue by applying uniform pressure across the mold, ensuring a tight seal. The system consists of a custom-fitted press (sealing plate) and a set of clamps that compress the silicone mold halves together. Once assembled, the mold remains securely closed, preventing water from escaping until the ice is fully frozen. Key Features: Designed specifically for 6-sphere silicone ice molds Improves sealing performance and prevents leakage Even pressure distribution across the mold surface Simple assembly and easy to use Reusable and durable Dimensions: Width: 118 mm (≈ 4.65") Length: 170 mm (≈ 6.69") Printing Instructions: Print 2 sealing presses Print 10 clamps Recommended material: PLA, PETG, or similar rigid filament Suggested layer height: 0.2 mm Infill: 20–40% Walls: 3–5 perimeters Supports: Not required Assembly Instructions: Fill the silicone mold with water as usual. Place the second half of the mold on top. Position the two sealing presses on opposite sides. Attach the clamps evenly around the edges to apply pressure. Ensure all clamps are firmly secured before moving the mold. Result: With this system, the mold stays tightly sealed, preventing leaks and ensuring all spheres are properly filled and frozen.
