Description
I decided I wanted to be able to display my LEGO Ecto-1 in the middle of my Hexagon MiniFig Display that I've been printing thanks to Casadebricks.com's Extended Minifig Hexagons. So I created this shelf specifically for that particular layout (kind of nestled in the middle), and wanted to share in case someone would enjoy the same. After printing I did some revisions, and at the same time I also realized it will work with the Speed Champions series as well. (Some of the pictures with the Speed Champs are on my first test print before revising). So I made a few variations: Hex Display Ecto-1 Mount - Variation 1 Deep Is, as pictured, if you want it to have the “upper” keyways for mounting in the middle or recessed into the display. (Also works for the wider Speed Champions cars) Hex Display Ecto-1 Mount - Variation 2 Deep Is without the “upper” keyways in case you want to mount on top of the display. (Also works for the wider Speed Champions cars) Hex Display Speed Champ Mount - Variation 1 Shallow Is for the narrower Speed Champions cars and has the “upper” keyways for mounting the middle or recessed into the display. Hex Display Speed Champ Mount - Variation 2 Shallow Is for the narrower Speed Champions cars, without the “upper” keyways in case you want to mount on top of the display. I made a couple “short” variations as well (deep and shallow). Ecto-1 is too long to fit on these, but should be good for the wide and narrow Speed Champions respectively. Also pictured, I used the “Short Variation Shallow” to display the 4 Ghostbuster Minifigs in on their display, just under Ecto-1. EDIT: I also found they work well with the Marvel Hall of Armor. I printed in PLA+ with the cooling turned down a bit. I also recommending printing with a brim.
