Description

By far one of my favorite eras for Link! I've learned a lot about organic / tree supports while trying to print this model. I have had issues with the sword, sheath, and cap using slicer generated tree supports. My suggestion is to add support modifiers / enforcers to these three areas. Using OrcaSlicer, I found that these support settings work best for my P1S: Support type: Tree auto Style: Tree Hybrid Threshold angle: 25 deg Support critical regions only: Yes All the other support settings can be adjusted depending on your printer and tolerances / cooling ability. One other setting that has helped is “Speed>Slow down for curled perimeters”. I found that many of the tree supports were curling in the thinnest areas, and the toolhead would crash into them after a while. Part cooling is critical, so consider positioning the model closer to any Aux part cooling fans your printer may have or rotate the model so the toolhead part fan is flowing mostly on the print. I'm not the best at printing sculptures and decorative models like this, so there is probably a lot better advice out there from more experienced printers. There are also many more opportunities to clean up this model. His feet are not on a flat plane, so you may need to lower 1-2mm into the build plate to get truly flat feet. There is an odd strap from the shield that is partially clipped/missing that is in need of 3d modeling skills above my own. Feel free to re-remix if anyone feels like smoothing things out even more. Photos of print: Two color silk PLA from Eryone - Blue&Green. Large Link printed with .4mm nozzle at .16mm layer height (High quality BambuLabs preset). Small Link (20% size model) printed with .2mm nozzle at .06mm layer height (wouldn't recommend, it's so fragile I sneezed and snapped his legs off once). Printed on my P1S
