Description

Did the pegs on your Logitech Romer-G keycap break off? This model serves as a drop-in repair stem for Logitech Romer-G keycaps that have sustained broken mounting pegs. It acts as a structural bridge between the damaged keycap and the mechanical switch, restoring standard functionality. Key Design Features Bypasses Lodged Debris: Functions correctly even if broken plastic pegs remain permanently stuck inside the switch housing. No extraction tools are required. No Keycap Modification: Accommodates keycaps with partially intact pegs. You do not need to clip, sand, or modify the keycap prior to installation. Friction-Fit Assembly: Engineered to assemble without adhesives. The stem relies strictly on friction-fit tolerances to secure the keycap to the switch. Invisible Mending: No visual and functional difference between the original keycap and switch vs this repair. The hole even allows for the keycap to light up at same brightness. Installation Print the repair stem. Align the printed stem in the keycap. Larger base nees to face the keycap. Also check the slope of the stem. Press the stem down into the keycap. No need to remove still intact pegs. Press the keycap with the stem down firmly until it is fully seated. File Details & Customization Included Files: Three Autodesk Fusion source files are provided: a Ctrl key file, an Alt key file, and a customizable base file. One stl and one 3mf file for each key, ready to print. Row 6 Keys (Ctrl & Alt): The provided Ctrl and Alt files are functional for any keycap in Row 6 (the spacebar row). The primary difference between the two files is a 90-degree rotation of the peg layout. Both have been successfully tested on a Logitech G413. Adapting for Other Rows: The included base file can be adapted to fit keys in any other row. This will most likely only require adjusting the angle of the top surface to match the profile of the target row. Modification Process: Open the base file in Autodesk Fusion and utilize the Draft tool to modify the top angle and the side angles. You can inspect the provided Ctrl and Alt files to see exactly how this adjustment process was executed. Compatibility This repair stem is compatible with ALL Logitech keyboards that utilize the proprietary Romer-G Tactile or Romer-G Linear switches. Please note: Logitech later switched to "GX" switches (which look like a standard Cherry MX cross + ) on some newer models. This part is strictly for the Romer-G switches with the hollow, square center.
