LowPoly Darth Vader Pen Holder

The kneeling Vader from jhwblender / FLOWALISTK is an awesome design I fell in love, immediately. It is exactly what I was looking for since a long time. But during printing several issues came up. This led me to the decision to rework the figure. The outcome you can see on the pictures. I did the following improvements: Figure The figure now is printed separately from the base ground. Also body and coat are printed separately. This decreses the risk of a total fail and gives you additional freedom to work with different materials: For the body I used normal (shiny) PETG while for the coat I used XPETG matt. The figure and the coat have been optimized to be more easy to print for overhanging and for stability. Base The base ground now is printed upside down. This gives a nice and even surface. As it is printed separately you can use different material and color. There is now a cavity for a 40x6x75mm metal bar (or anything else) which gives you around 130g extra weight. You can add additional TPU feet for better standing on the desk. Printing All parts have already been uploaded in the orientation for best printing. For good results I changed the following settings: Threshold for support to 40° organic support, branch diameter angle: 5° Especially for the top of the base do not use support - appearance will suffer! Assembly You need: 11x 2.2x6.5mm tap screw 1x metal bar 40x6x75mm filament of your choice Head and body can be glued together with the small stick (you now need less glue…). All other parts are screwed together with the tap screws (you may add additional glue if you want). Have fun!
