Custom Chessboard with Extra Features This chessboard is a bit special with its optional built-in defunct Prusa Steel Sheet (MK3.x/MK4.x), allowing you to use magnetic pieces that stay put and don’t slide around during the game. Plus, you can optionally add storage boxes underneath the board to keep your chess pieces neat and secure—great for organized play and easy transport. Customize your chess experience by choosing between magnetic features, storage options, or simply enjoying the board as it is! >>> You can find the matching chess pieces here . <<< After assembly, the chessboard has the following dimensions: Width 27.6 cm Depth 26.3 cm Height 1.4 cm (including boxes 4.9 cm) One more piece of information due to some inquiries regarding the dimensions of the metal sheet: The Prusa Steel Sheet measures 241 x 254 x 1.4 mm. If you don't have one and still want the magnetic features, you can alternatively get an inexpensive metal sheet at a hardware store. Update - August 29, 2024 If you also play checkers, then the Checkers Add-On for the Magnetic Chessboard with a set of checkers pieces and a matching storage box is for you. It is only 2 cm high and is attached underneath the existing storage box for the chess pieces. Printing information All STL files are correctly aligned. If you don't want to integrate a steel sheet, print Frame A, B, C, D - no sheet instead of Frame A, B, C, D . Layer height: 0.20 Infill: 10% Support: none You can optionally change the color of all frame parts starting from layer #67 (13.40mm). This color change allows you to highlight the labels on the frame, making them stand out more prominently. A tip: I always use 3DLAC spray adhesive . With it, warpring and challenging first layers are no longer a problem. Just spray a little on the print bed. One spray usually lasts for five to ten prints in my experience. Assembly Instructions The assembly is quite simple. You only need some super glue and a steady hand. Just follow the illustrated instructions. The sequence has worked well for me. If you don't want to integrate a steel sheet, use Frame A, B, C, D - no sheet instead of Frame A, B, C, D .
