Description

Another friend, another favorite animal - this time the wish was a Panda. So I searched for a cute picture, sketched it in FreeCAD, built a new Faceplate… but pandas have arms, not wings - another part to design. After the first test-print I saw that the eyes didn‘t fit in the face - easy, only some editing of the eye-part… but now that didn‘t fit into the back-part. After reworking the back-part everything fits and the model works like a charm. Before building this model, please read the description of the original design for the magnets and the assembly. The Front should be printed in two colors: beginning with black and the upper layers in white to have the right coloring. If you can't change the color, you can print in black and paint the upper face white. I printed the Eye-part in blue and the Arms and the Back in black to match the corresponding features of the front. All parts were printed in Eryone PLA with 0,2mm layer hight. After some light sanding of the inner flat faces and the holes, the two magnets can be glued to the backplate. I designed the holes for the magnets in the frontplate a little wider so using 8x3mm magnets is also possible. When the glue has dried, all parts can be snapped together. If you are interested in modifing my work, you will find the FreeCAD-file included here. You have to use the FreeCAD version 1.0 or above to open it.
