Description

an early nuclear weapon, in service from 1952 to 1957 from Wikipedia: "The Mark 8 nuclear bomb was an American nuclear bomb designed in the late 1940s and early 1950s, which was in service from 1952 to 1957. ... According to one government source, the Mark 8 could penetrate 22 feet (6.7 m) of reinforced concrete, 90 feet (27 m) of hard sand, 120 feet (37 m) of clay, or 5 inches (13 cm) of hardened armor-plate steel." "it could be carried on certain naval attack aircraft, including the AD-4B Skyraider, the AJ-1 Savage, and the FJ-4B Fury." There was no existing 3d model for this one, so I threw this together from dimensions on Wikipedia and photos from museums I print the missile standing on its tail cone and fins, I did not use a brim. At 1:24 scale the length comes in at roughly 5 inches I plan to update this model with the mounting hooks in the photos and add the naval variant which has a rounded nose source for photo used: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mk_8_nuclear_bomb.jpg
