Description
This has heavy influence from the Skadis Mount ( https://www.printables.com/model/365081-mmu-slot-buffer-skadis-mount ) but since I have 1" pegboard at the house, that's what I needed. I used PETG but PLA is probably fine since it's pretty low stress. Required Hardware: 2x M3 Nuts 2x M3x12mm Screws Can't really go shorter than this. Can go longer but it'll be harder to snug up the fit to the mount for a nice solid feel. Changes I made and why: New DoveTail Mount I liked the design of the slide-in inserts attaching directly to the mounting surface but allowing for easy removal by sliding the mounting plate off so I simply modified that for pegboard use. Actual Mount Plate Location of dovetail cutouts had to be moved slightly to accommodate the 1" spacing of pegboard. In addition, the original mounting plate required M5 nuts, but the base of the buffer is defaulted to traditional M3 screw sizing. I'm not sure why M5 was chosen by the original author as it would be incompatible with the standard bottom piece requiring some drilling out, etc. To avoid that, I re-did the nut sizing here to accept the M3 size we all know and love. It potentially has a little more “give” to it than an M5 sized mounting mechanism but in my opinion, M3 is completely fine, especially since there are 2 of them.
