Description
The adapter originally designed by @wasyl00 offers excellent tracking performance. I've made adjustments to the handle to lower the battery's position, enhancing the feel by making it lighter and more balanced in the hand. If you encounter any issues or have special requests, feel free to message me. Features Balanced : Two options: 1) “paddle-base” has the controller's center of mess closer to the grip, potentially quickening wrist turns in games like Eleven Table Tennis. 2) “paddle-base-ex” has more room for fingers and the center of mess is more realistic, close to the center of a real paddle board, thought it may feel a bit heavier in hand. Extremely Lightweight : The controller weighs just 144-149 grams with AAA rechargeable lithium battery and overgrip ( only about +14g to the original controller weight ), when using the minimum print configuration (2 top + 1 bottom layers, 15% infill, 1 wall lines). Interchangeable Handles : With a separate, wireless handle design, you can easily switch between straight, flared, or anatomical grip styles using a single base. I also included a flared handle from a paddle designed by @eCHOMP, which is rounder and narrower. Battery Replacement Made Simple : The battery is easily accessible by unscrewing the base cap. Overgrip Compatible : The overgrip remains undisturbed during battery changes since the handle remains assembled. Durable : A screw mechanism securely fastens the battery and handle, eliminating loose components. Easy Disassembly : The unit can be completely taken apart without glue, facilitating easy changes and repairs. Safe Playing : The original controller strap can be reused on the adapter to avoid the controller being thrown out accidentally and making any damages when you swing it too hard. No support required for printing Improved backhand tracking : Based on the original adapter, the Quest 3 controller is rotated horizontally clockwise (from the top, for backhand) for 24deg to improve tracking for extreme backhanded positions. Better controller strap installation : Used a stick to fix the strap for simplicity and reducing the strap length. One side self sticky straps (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BS8XN6NX/ ) is needed. Assembly Instructions The 4th photo illustrates the internal assembly. Follow these instructions for assembly: Print : A dummy AA battery is necessary and can be easily sourced online . Ensure to remove any excess brim from the prints. Select your preferred handle type, noting that slicer warnings about water-tightness can be disregarded. To print it for left hand, just mirror the model. Wire : 20 AWG wire is recommended. The battery should have the negative end at the bottom. Route the negative wire behind the positive pad and battery holders, allowing for enough length (5cm or more wire recommended) to pull out the negative terminal pad when changing batteries. Wire the dummy battery, adapter base, positive pad, and negative wire accordingly, with the negative terminal pad wired at this stage or later. Install Handle : Slide the handle onto the base, rotating 180 degrees if it does not fit initially. Align the handle and base bottoms correctly. Wire Negative Terminal Pad : Ensure the wire's length is sufficient for easy battery replacement. Expose the wire where it will contact the battery. Install Battery : Insert the positive terminal first, using a lightweight lithium rechargeable battery for optimal weight. Install Negative Terminal Pad : Place it ensuring proper contact with the battery. Screw on Battery Cap : Secure the cap evenly. Use a stick through the cap's hole to tighten or loosen it as needed. Install the controller strap : Insert the original controller strap through the inner hole of the battery screw cap. Install the controller : Loop the strap bottom end through the two holes and make the other end through the top hole and then pull it back to attach to the same surface of the strap. Note: you need to make sure to tighten the strap as much as you can, otherwise the controller may move when you swing the paddle very hard. Notes The Wasyl v2.0 adapter has a bit more visibility for forehand tracking but less for backhand depending on the playing style. It's also a bit heavier (+10g). The only benefit is a bigger room for the index finger that has been addressed by the expanded version, so no need to include it in this mod any more.

It features a black handle with a grip and a mounting mechanism that allows the paddle to be securely attached to the console. The adapter also includes a weight measurement feature, as indicated by the digital display showing a weight of 148 grams. The design is functional and ergonomic, intended for use with the Quest 3 gaming console to provide a stable and comfortable grip for playing table tennis.
