Description

Hi, This is my CW key meant for ham radio. I designed it to use very few non 3d printed parts to make it as simple as possible. For this you will need: -7mm * 2mm piece of sheet metal --- (but really any thin piece of felxible metal will work; this is just what I used) -2 m4*16mm screws --- (16mm is the optimal size but technically in case you dont have them longer screws also work they will just stick out) -2 m4 nuts -wire to connect to radio Assembly is quite simple: You first need to put the piece of sheet metal inbetween the slit. Then the holes for the screws aren't pre-threaded so the threads are created when you screw the screws in. The screws also allow it to be adjustable letting you change spacing between the paddle and contacts. To wire it you take some cable with an audio jack on one end (for connecting to the radio's key jack) and pass it though the hole on the back of the case. The common/ground wire goes to the sheet metal at the back, it can be secured with some tape, solder or glue. Then the other two wires go to both screws one for dit and one for dah, you put the wire inbetween the head of the screw and then tighten the nut to hold the wire. Then just slide the cover on using the grooves. You can also use some heatshrink or electrical tape on the front end of the metal to make it more comfortable. The spacing between That's I, hope you enjoy my design! 73 P.S: This is the second thing I have ever made with cad but I tried to make it as good as possible :)
