Description

This is a blinker for a 1990 miata, I modeled it after carbon miata's. They are not perfect but it sure is better than spending 300 dollars on those. There are a couple of problems with the model that I was too lazy to fix, if someone wants to do a remix and fix those problems, props to you, I'll also attach the fusion file First, you will have to drill out a hole on one of the sides for a screw Second, on the side with the drilled screw hole, you have to sand down the side just enough to fit inside the car Materials: Black ASA Filament(approximately 300 grams) Turn signal lens, I got these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XMZKWL5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Blinker Led strips, I got these sequential ones: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K7F7KRS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share CA glue, I used medium Black RTV silicone, I used this one: https://www.autozone.com/p/permatex-gasket-sealant-22072/415412?spps.s=861&cmpid=SPL:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:GEN:pdp&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22356757832&gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVv3VkA1ZcbL8kD7GqxRIaxWp&gclid=CjwKCAjwyMnNBhBNEiwA-Kcgu3vUVUMwCNMmkTJF82Mmv3zlACHY6XvLp44MUxDmKAeFBbZ2W-X2uhoCzcEQAvD_BwE&new_store_set=true Instructions: Print the housings in ASA Filament, with supports. Remove the supports(dont worry if its not perfect, it will look better when you paint it. Paint the inner donut ring thing white, and the rest of it black(if it needs it) Using the CA glue, pull the led strip through the hole, lay and glue it along the wall of the donut, cutting off the excess of leds at the end. on the lens's remove them from the housing they come with. You can do this by putting it in the oven at 175 degrees farenheight, or doing what i did, chop off the bottom then use a heat gun to remove the rests of the plastic from the lens I would suggest cutting the little clips on the lens off so its flush with the rest of the lens, then on the corners cut a little bit of the lense so that it fits inside the 3d print Apply RTV silicone to the 3d print channel and put the lense on the top. Place books, or something heavy on it to push the lense on the print, wait 24 hours. Ensure that all the gaps are filled(you want this to be waterproof) Open the hood of the car and flip up the headlights so you can access the headlight connector Remove the old headlights with teh 2 screws on the side of the headlight and disconnecting the connector. cut off the old bulb about 4 inches from the bulb, and stip those wires, there should be a green, red with green stripe, and black wire. Solder or crimp the black wire of the led strip to the black wire of the car, the red from the strip to the red with green stripe, and the yellow wire from the strip to the green wire of the car. put the leds in the car and screw it in Your blinkers are now in! however they likely blink fast, heres a link to a Youtube video that fixed it for me: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qq0IehoU7sk https://youtube.com/shorts/4A3NAyjGyHk
