Description
I love the original chain submission, but the base piece that connects the chain to the cable's originating location had a weak point where the portion that holds the cable connects to the portion that clips into the printer. At the same spot I would continuously have bending and breaking. The base is such an extremely tight fit that it was hard to push hard enough to clip it into place without breaking, and it kept breaking at the exact same spot. You could usually solve this by changing the orientation of your print, so that the lines are printed along the length of the fragile area to keep it strong against that type of bending in that direction; unfortunately this would result in the clamp itself being weaker along the axis it's squeezed on, which isn't an option as it's under some pretty extreme stress - it's one or the other, and the clamp takes priority. The only alternative is changing the design. This variation is only a slight modification, with extra material at said spot to strengthen the connection. The reinforced portion is circled in the included picture. Please note - that picture was taken before a slight adjustment, where I removed a tiny portion of the reinforcement in order to ensure the first chain piece is not obstructed.
