Description
I had issues with the original/ jiffy pot being weak. I dropped one and it broke around the longer slits. The stronger vs I linked here also was great but used way to much material. It definitely didn't break easy. **** Pictures show the V1 vs the Stronger Pot **** Anyways, the reason for this remix. To have a balance between material needed to print vs strength. To open up the bottom to allow easier plant transfers if using established plants. I made 2 versions. I printed the first version as seen in the pictures. It worked for my plant transfer. I'm going to print the version 2 to see how it does because it should use even less material. As far as longevity of these, they will probably last as long as the original / jiffy pots. I've not had a chance to test this as I just got started in hydroponics and just made these. If you use them, update if you can in the comments! When printed, I use standard settings in my slicer. I used PETG. I did get a bit of stringing towards the end of the print. I just pulled it out with long nose pliers. I'm sure some design flaws could be fixed or slicer settings. I'll try to update if I can. *** I'm still having some issues when printing so I made basically a version 3. Version 3 is just the regular jiffy pot with the top sliced off. *** I'll re-work on V1 & 2 when I have some time here. — Update I found the issue was when I made the cone, it was overhanging and causing a ghost line to print. I'm deleting the other 2 versions I made and leaving the original jiffy I sliced the cone off. My updated model I made is printing perfect. It is also stronger than the standard pot due to circle instead of the rectangle opening. It seems to use less materail and seems to allow better water transfer inside the cup vs the standard style. I put pictures of the new version vs the standard stronger cup. Its the one with the craftsman chair in the picture. *** For those that don't want to read everything, I screwed up the other 2 models I made and deleted the stl off here for them. You can choose the original pot with the end sliced off or print my new version i designed to hopefully be stronger and use less material. These were designed to help allow transplanting established plants with roots or however you may find it helpful to have an open cone.
AI Analysis: These are two black plastic pots designed for hydroponic systems, specifically intended for growing plants in a modular setup. Each pot features a perforated design with multiple circular openings to allow for water circulation and nutrient delivery. The pots are placed on a red surface with the word 'CRAFTS' visible on it.
