Description
Here is a remix of @Nat_ 's Octahedroflake model that includes a hollow shaft down the middle. This is the “Penelope” size model (about 100mm tall). I used transparent filament to 3D print the model for maximum light transmission, then threaded a 130mm flexible warm-white LED segment down the shaft. Add a switch and 3V coin battery to power the LED and you're done. The electronics can be hidden away in the included hollow base, which was inspired by @AndrewWillia_1862338 's Octahedroflake pedestal. I would recommend using Prusa Slicer to slice the model, minding Nat's settings for printing in vase mode. I could not get Cura to slice the model in vase mode without creating occasional odd paths in the gcode. I'm not a Cura expert, so I may have just not been using the proper settings.
