Open-Air Desktop Speaker Kit for 8cm Units

This is a modular, industrial-style desktop mount designed specifically for 8cm speaker units . By embracing an "Open-Air" (enclosure-less) design, this kit allows you to enjoy the direct, natural sound characteristic of full-range drivers. It is perfect for casual FM radio listening or desktop background music. Quick Compatibility Test If you are unsure if your speaker unit will fit, print only the brackets from Plate 1 first . Place your unit on the printed bracket to check if the M4 screw holes align properly . This allows you to verify compatibility before printing the rest of the parts. Compatible Units Tested with : FOSTEX FE83NV2 (Current model) FOSTEX FE87 (Legacy model) Note : It should be compatible with most standard 8cm units as long as the mounting hole patterns align. High Modularity / Customization The design is highly modular, allowing you to stack layers according to your aesthetic preference: Full Industrial : All layers stacked for a heavy-duty look. Minimal Mesh : ring spacer + mesh grille only. Low Profile : Omitting the cylindrical spacer to bring the main grille closer to the unit. Bill of Materials (BOM) Screws : 4x M4 x 30mm (Main assembly), 2x M4 x 8mm (Stand pivot). Nuts : 6x Standard M4 nuts. Print Settings Support : NOT REQUIRED for any parts. Plate List Plate 1 (stand) : Desktop Stand & Brackets. Plate 2 (ring spacer) : Ring Spacer (Clearance Gasket). This must be placed immediately above the unit to prevent the grille assembly from touching the speaker's surround (bulge). Plate 3 (mesh grille - frame) : Mesh Retaining Frames. Plate 4 (mesh grille - insert) : Mesh Accent Insert (Honeycomb). Print in an accent color for the best look! Plate 5 (cylindrical spacer) : Cylindrical Spacers (x4). Plate 6 (main grille) : Main Louvered Grille.
