Description
I really like the idea of remove-able mount. However when I try to mount it onto my book shelf, my free-hand drilled holes are off by quite a bit. Four mounts on four corner are just fighting each other when I try to push the grid in. So I designed this remix. The original model have a counter sink matching cone in the middle. Which means even if I use a smaller screw, The cone mating will still self-align to center of the screw. I removed it to make it completely flat. I designed for a 1mm offset on any direction base on a M4 counter sink screw. (which the widest head part is 8mm). 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media This lock is easier to use with a button head screw, or a cup head screw with big flat washer. However counter sinks are the most common for wood screw. So I also added a tiny little adapter that makes the counter sink screw to have a big-wide contact area with the snap to hold it down. I also been having problem breaking free the original design. So I do the same things as my other remix of @Marcus_543412 design. Reduced contact area and custom cross head tools. This tool have a extra bit of indent in the middle trying to clear the potential tall screw head. On the last image, you can see how bad was my drilling, which isn't very visible until putting the grid on. My procedure of installing this is: first screw in all the snaps but keep them loose, so the snap could wiggle freely around. Then push in the grid. Nudge the grid to exactly where you like it, then finally tighten all of them while holding the grid. And here is the onshape link
