Description
Technically just a lazy remix of the latest OpenLOCK clip from the linked OG design. My DM and I set out on a 3D printing journey to make a nice little modular map for a campaign that we are in and I was persistent about not needing walls due to waste of material and it just makes it harder for everyone to reach around the table and move their minis. I am now printing walls… Anyway, the DM decided that he absolutely needed walls for a certain chamber and was getting annoyed with attempting to lean floor tiles vertically and is new to printing, so I used this as an exercise to teach them how you can lazily “model” things in the slicer. So if you're ever in a bind and need to use floors as walls for whatever reason, this may help you. Printing: obviously since it's not a flat object you can't follow the traditional 0% infill/0 top/bottom layers/3 walls to make it nice and springy, but the best I have found thus far is just going by the above, with 20% infill. It will be stiffer. I went through several design variations and found that the length in either direction wasn't enough to securely fasten the two pieces together, so I kept working on it until I reached this length, which is plenty for the pieces we are using and should accommodate at least one side being thicker/more textured. You may have to cut/adjust if you need to. Make sure to Spongebob™ grasp them firmly on the corner when disconnecting as depending on your infill settings/filament rigidity that's a lot of pressure on one side or the other. I broke a lot during testing… YMMV and no promises. Just a fast and dirty temporary solution. Again: neither a permanent nor a pretty solution, but if your DM is like that then it's slightly better than watching them curse as they try to lean floors on floors.
