Description

This is a kit for building an RC Car. This is a variation of my design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7326362 , where parts are provided for front wheel steering as would be normal for a car. It also leverages OpenSCAD files from some of my other projects that can be configured to generate needed STL files. You can use the OpenSCAD files provided to generate parts that might better suit your needs. The printed parts include: Chassis, which you may choose to modify or replace to suit your needs Two motor mounts, you may need to configure for specific motors Four 20mm radius wheels and tires to connect to the motor shafts Front steering components, which allow the car to be steered by a micro servo. Mounting brackets that screw onto chassis to hold things, depending on your needs and you might design your own There are other optional printed parts you can add, such as: Bumpers Seats It is intended that the electronics are for 2.4GHz ELRS radio control. Shown here are the non-printed parts: Two brushed DC motors (depending on the diameter, you may need to adjust the size of the motor mounts) 7.4 volt rechargeable battery (e.g. Blomiky 450mAh with a USB charger) Radiomaster ER4 2.4GHz receiver (has WiFi for configuration and firmware updates) One mini brushed 20A RC ESC speed controllers (note4 that both motors are connected to the same ESC outputs, you will need to test polarity so that motors turn in the same direction when operated One micro servo motor (e.g. Mizuei MG905, optional) On/off toggle switch LED and 300-400 ohm resistor to show power on/off status Various M3 bolts and lock nuts Wires (recommend Dupont cables with M and F ends, makes wiring and reconfiguration much easier) Solder and heat shrink tubing and/or tape See https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7316286 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7317402 (wheels and tires) for other useful OpenSCAD files.. All parts, except for tires, can be printed with PLA+, PETG, PETG+ or ABS. Tires should be printed using TPU. All parts are fastened using M3 bolts, where locknuts are recommended for some pieces.
