Description
I found inspiration in a well known character from an action and futurist robotics movie. I decided to take old Otto models as its ancestor bob the biped and transform it into a cool red robot with some new features. My robot is powered with one 18650 battery from an old laptop, i used a step up module to regulate voltage required to use servomotors, i also created an app using "app inventor" you can change between 2 modes, simple arrow control or voice recognition mode. When using voice recognition mode, you can use words (keywords are in the files above) in English and in Spanish and the robot will answer with phrases from the movie. You can see the video called "Demonstrative video" to see how it works. All the phrases are saved in a micro SD card, so, you can changed them if you want Otto to tell you different dialogs, in this case, phrases are in Spanish but you can add many more in the language you prefer. BOM: 1 Arduino NANO with data cable 4 micro Servomotors sg90 1 Bluetooth module Hc05 1 DFPlayer mini Arduino module 1 Switch 1 Small Speaker 2 meters of cable 1 18650 Battery 1 5x5 pcb breadboard Fabrication: 1.- You'll need a 3D printer to print all .STL files 2.- Sandpaper to remove all leftover parts. 3.- Soldering iron 4.- Basic tools as scissors, small screwdrivers, servo screws, double sided tape, hot glue if necessary. Schematic Pins: Servomotors: D2 D3 D4 D5 Bluetooth module: Rx-Tx Tx-Rx 5v-5v gnd-gnd Ultrasonic sensor: Trigger-D11 Echo-D12 Vcc-5v Gnd-gnd MP3 module: Serial communication: Rx-D8 Tx-D9 Electronic schematic is in a file above that you can download, you just need to replace the Arduino Uno to an Arduino NANO and powered it with a 18650 battery with step up module and follow the pinout.
