Description

I did not want to shell out $50 for a real one so i tried to get very close even though the aesthetics are a little off. The knife works amazing and is incredibly smooth due to the bushings and washers, it feels incredibly solid and is weighted very well with how the blade BBs are positioned and where the handle holes are located keeping it light but very flowy. This build does require a pretty precise printer but id be willing to make another file with looser parameters if needed. The small posts on the handles can also be a bit finicky but ill fix that soon. I was really proud of how well this feels and how it came out so id appreciate feedback and any adjustments you can think of! Parts needed (what i used) - 9 x .144cal Steel BBs (blade weights) - 2 x Nylon spacers 0.115in ID x 3/16in OD x 1in (2.92 mm ID × 4.76 mm OD × 25.4 mm length) (I cut them into 4mm sections to fit into blade - 4 x #4 Flat Brass Washers (not sure if material matters) - 4 x M3 - 0.5 12mm (I used metric pan head Phillips but any head should be fine) Settings So for handle to not totally bias the balance point id recommend doing 40% infill and also used gyroid infill since it also absorbs shock a bit better For the Blade id recommend 100% infill since with 3d printing all the ones ive used are usually handle biased and its harder to get them to be a more neutral balance even with the BBs Id recommend messing with the infill settings of each too to maybe make it balance even better if you want - Gyroid infill (not totally necessary helps with impact potentially) - 40% infill for handle - 100% infill for blade Also Please give feed back i want to make this design better and better!
