Description
3/10/23 - UPDATE I updated the PTFE link to have a more rounded tube guide. I noticed the tube guide on the original was starting to slowly scrape the tube. It has been labeled V2 respectively. Also, my PLA print of this chain started to get lose. I reprinted it the whole chain in PETG and seems more durable. If printing in PETG, I suggest assembling the chain before installation and moving it around a bit to loosen the links, for a smother motion. Once you're happy and it feels more fluid, proceed with the installation. Remix of this cable chain: https://www.printables.com/model/368584-p1p-printable-cable-chain I loved the idea of printing a cable chain for my P1P so I printed the original only to find it dragging on the carbon rods and nothing I did seemed to make it rigid enough to never touch. I even tried the fat cable tie trick but I still wasn't satisfied with it. So I decided to redesign the links… I tightened the tolerances and modified the links to compensate for the sag of the chain. This one works the way I expected it to. When assembling the links, start by pushing the top pin in the top hole first and snap the bottom pin last. This will make the assembly easier. Even though some of my pictures show 3 tube links, I found it really works best if you only use two of the PTFE tube links, as this allows the filament tube room to push out in the middle of the cable chain.
