Description
This is a parametric Gridfinity divider bin based on the “Actual Parametric Gridfinity” bins. I found that the original model did not follow with the Gridfinity dimensions well and did not nest properly with Zach's Gridfinity bins. I have adjusted the dimensions accordingly and added parametric dividers. The Fusion 360 file has the following parameters to control bin generation: BinUnitsX - The width of the bin in Gridfinity units. BinUnitsY - The depth of the bin in Gridfinity units. BinUnitsZ - The height of the bin in Gridfinity units. BinWallThick - How thick to make the bin walls. Defaults to 0.95mm. BinDividersX - The number of dividers to add along the width of the bin. BinDividersY - The number of dividers to add along the depth of the direction. BinDividersThick - How thick to make the dividers. Defaults to 1mm. BinStackingLip - Set to 0 to remove the stacking lip at the top of the bin. This will make dividers (nearly) flush with the top of the bin. BinStraightWall - Set to 1 to make the walls straight. This removes the internal stacking lip but retains the wall height to allow for loose stacking. Gridfinity units are 42mm wide and 7mm high. The total height of a bin includes the stacking lip which is 4mm in this model. Thus if a bin is generated with BinUnitsZ set to 2 and BinStackingLip set to 1 the height of the bin will be 18mm. Setting BinStackingLip to 0 would reduce the height to 14mm which is exactly 2u tall. The stacking lip is added to the total height because it is not included in the stacking height. In other words, if you stack a bin on top it will nest 4mm inside of the bottom box so is not part of the “unit”. The Gridfinity design spec accounts for 4.4mm of stacking lip, but this assumes a precise 45mm edge. This model adds a flat section on top for printability and so reduces the total height of the model by 0.4mm.
