I wanted to buy me a cheap Chinese camera to use as a means to watch my 3DPrinter do it's job while I'm not near. However, buying a cheap($4) Chinese camera might result in inviting all Chinese to have a look with me, to my printer and my home-network :), so, not a good idea. An old iPhone I had lying around helped. If you install something like AlfredCamera on it you can use it as a camera. You then use AlfredCamera on your own mobile phone to act as a viewer. To power the mobile phone I made a small connector hooked up to the 5Volt of my printer. Works like a charm. Remember however that you have to solder two resistors between the +5Volt and the D+ and D- pads of the USB-C connector. The USB-C connectors you can buy on the internet. Check your own mobile phone brand for the exact value of the resistors. I used two 100K resistors.
