Pop-up Gift Card Box

This pop-up box adds some extra animation to giving gift cards! The design makes use of a scissor mechanism to rotate and raise a gift card to the middle of the opened box. The design comes with 2 box styles and 4 band styles, but it can be easily customized with your own embossed text or patterns to give your gift a special touch! https://youtu.be/42D3uyLa6v4 Printing The box itself can be printed in two parts ( Box_Plain_Top.stl & Box_Plain_Bottom.stl ) or as a single piece with a print-in-place hinge ( Box_Plain.stl ) . The print-in-place hinge has .25mm of clearance all around the axel, which makes two 20mm long bridges. This may be a difficult print and should not be printed with a nozzle that's larger than 0.4mm. The print-in-place hinge is printed with the hinge facing down so that the box is open at a 90 degree angle. Latch Holder.stl is the only file that requires supports. A newer Latch_Holder_V2_No_Supports_Needed.stl is now available. Assembly The four latches that hold the card are assembled using 1.75mm filament. The holes for this filament are 2.2mm wide, so this can be a tight fit. If the holes are too tight, use a 2mm drill bit to open them up slightly. If the holes are too loose, either use heat to melt and seal the filament into the hole, or use glue to prevent the filament from falling out. Pay close attention to the positioning and orientation of the parts as shown in the video. If Latch_Top.stl is assembled upside down, the mechanism will not fully close.
