Description

@TeachingTech's original portable drill press design is quite good. However I found that in some cases I wanted the base to be larger to provide extra stability, give me more room to hold on and, on occasion, to clamp the press in place. In addition I needed to drill through the corner of a box so I created a right angle corner jig which bolts on to the larger base. This jig could also be useful for drilling through cylindrical items like dowels or pipes. It should be pretty straightforward to create additional bolt on jigs for other purposes such as drilling at a specific angle other than 90°. In the attached photos, the parts unchanged from @TeachingTech's design are orange and my modified parts are green. Hardware required to attach the corner jig: 2 M5x30 bolts 3 M5 nuts ( I printed @FrankW's m5 knurled knobs , which are great but optional ) Print settings: Print all the parts listed on @TeachingTech's portable drill press , except for the foot right.stl and foot left.stl. Use the foot right.stl and foot left.stl listed here instead. I followed @TeachingTech's print setting recommendations for all drill press parts and they worked well. For the right angle jig I reduced the infill to 15%, used PETG and kept the perimeters at 5. It seems plenty strong with the reduced infill.
