Description

This project adds feet that connect to panels from the original project , allowing for platforms and other raised structures. I used them to make a raised platform for my chest freezer. Printing Tips Feet I printed in PETG with a 0.6mm nozzle. I set a 0.32mm layer height and 3 perimeters for extra strength. In hindsight, 2 perimeters and 5% cubic infill should be plenty strong and save some filament. Concentric top/bottom infill patterns print smoothly and look elegant. Flip the L-shaped feet in your slicer to make the “mirrored” feet in the photos. Connectors I printed in PETG with a 0.4mm nozzle. I set a 0.2mm layer height and 4 perimeters, effectively forcing a solid infill. Warnings This connector has fewer contact points than regular connectors, so you must customize the width to ensure a tight fit. Scale the width as shown below and make test prints until you find a size that requires a tool to help you force the connectors in. If you can easily insert the connectors by hand, they're too loose! The foot has a small chamfer to help with assembly. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media If you're supporting heavy weights on large panels, make sure to support the entire surface. Only supporting the edges may make your panels sag or break. Potential Improvements I've included the original Fusion360 design file so you can modify and improve the feet. Additional sizes would be nice. I only added the connector positions needed for my application. Additional positions would allow for more flexible layouts. Attribution Thanks to 3D Printy for making this wonderful system! I've kept their CC-BY license for compatibility. Also pictured (but not used to create this model) is this connector . Apology Please pardon the garish colors in the photos. I was using up some old filament. 😅 Changelog 2024-07-21 Versions 7+ of the template don't break when changing heights. Tested with heights from 10mm to 200mm.
