Description

Please read Prusa Research's original post "Prusa Protective Face Shield - RC3" for all best printing practices around sanitation before printing! Prusa Protective Face Shield - RC3 (Remixed for more reliable printing on not perfectly calibrated printers and jigs for fabrication using hand drills and kitchen shears instead of a laser cutter) Outside geometry has been slightly changed to allow for faster printing speeds while keeping the correct radius of the face shield (~13% faster print times) For San Francisco Bay Area have sourced a local plastic supplier: - https://www.tapplastics.com/about/locations/detail/san_francisco_ca -24" x 48" x 0.02" clear polycarbonate sheet -Modified design to use a 8" x 8" face shield for 0 waste fabrication -Can cut 8" squares using kitchen shears or strong scissors -Filet bottom two corners -Designed drill jigs to create holes using a hand drill instead of needing a laser cutter -Pilot hole with 5/64" bit, then drill actual hole with 1/4" bit for top and 3/16" bit for bottom Option with holes or no holes (no holes uses slightly more material but will print slightly faster) Uses original "bottom_reinforcement" file (which I have also uploaded on this page) Printed with 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.25 mm layer height, 60 mm/s print speed, and 30% infill As Prusa recommends, use PETG filament if possible *Still a work in progress, designs may change
