Description
Hi Joe! I'm Joseph, my country (Philippines) has a shortage of face shields and I've been following your blog about your face shield. We here in the Philippines are 3D Printing a face shield as well similar to your concept but way less ergonomic. There are no strict standards that apply here so far, anything is better than nothing. So that model has been printed by most of the 3D Printing Community here. I recently decided to print yours and modified it some more to make it print faster and less materials without compromising strength since we have to supply alot and we are low on filament stock. (Every gram counts!) I remixed 3 Models here, Yours is the base. The acetate mount is a remix of the face shield you posted https://grabcad.com/library/coronavirus-flu-reusable-mask-1 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4204061/comments And the third model is where the saving on material is inspired from which the most of the 3D Printing Volunteers in the Philippines is printing. (See attached photos) I print this with a Creality Ender 3 with a 0.8 nozzle running at 30mm/s, and it finishes in 25 minutes, uses 16 grams of PLA. I didnt include the support at the bottom anymore since i found it to be not useful for our kind of acetate sheet.(Ours is too flimsy) Hopefully you appreciate it! Thanks alot for the inspiration Joe! Really looking forward to owning a prusa soon once i've saved enough! Print instructions Machine: Creality Ender 3 Stock(no upgrades) Nozzle: 0.8 mm Nozzle Temp: 220 c Bed Temp: off (Using buildtac) Layer Height: 0.6 mm Speed: 30 mm/s Supports: None
