Description
A support brace for the Prusa MINI to stiffen the connection between the Z-axis and the Y carriage. Attach to the 3030 aluminium extrusions using M5 x 12 mm hexagon head cap screws and T nuts (available on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, etc.). The enlarged hole for one of the Y-axis screws is sized to fit my screw driver. Link to Onshape model is provided if you need to adjust hole size or do other customization (look for the tiny print under the Model Files). UPDATE 2024-11-06: Add second STL with modified brace to work with MINI enclosure. UPDATE v3: Enlarge screw hole counterbore to fit an M5 washer and other M5 screw heads. UPDATE v2a: Removed shapes representing X-axis stepper and X-axis carriage from STL file. Recreated 3MF and gcode files in PrusaSlicer 2.5.0. UPDATE v2: Changed height of the guides that fit into the rail slots to reduce the change of interference with tall T nuts (see comments and photo posted by Andrey Maslyuk). Print instructions Before printing, make sure the axes are aligned on the printer you are using - shim if needed - so the printed part will be square. 3MF file with print settings provided.
AI Analysis: This is a support brace designed for the Z-axis of a Prusa Mini printer. It provides structural stability to the printer's vertical movement mechanism. The brace features multiple mounting holes for secure attachment to the printer frame.
