PS5 USB Cable Housing In Various PlayStation Controller Connector Styles

The USB-C cable housing they included for the cable was a very cool design, so I thought maybe us existing PS5 owners can also share some of that fun with our official USB-C cable. I have designed housings for both the type A to C and type C to C cables. Note the type C to C housings can be used on the C end of the type A to C cable for comical effects ;-) The design is a friction fit. The fit is pretty precise and snug. You MUST pay attention to the installation directions so you don't force it and break the cable. I also included the model of a fake ferrite bead. Feel free to print one in matching color to the plug for more authenticity! 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Dimensions of the compatible cables Type A cable plug is 15.75 x 7.9 x 18.9mm. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Type C cable plug is 6.3 x 12 x 22mm. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media --------------- How to print Print the models in the given orientation - the standing upright position. Support is recommended. Remember to remove the support the scrape the inside of the plug cavity to make sure nothing is in the way when trying to insert the USB-C cable. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Multi-color Printing The model transitions to the primary body color at the height of 2.5mm. With 0.16mm layer height, transition is at around layer 17~18 With 0.2mm layer height, transition is at around layer 14~15 I also added a tiny ridge so multi-color slicing & printing should be easier. --------------- How to Install & Remove This design uses friction fit and is very snug. However, do NOT force the cable when installing it. Do NOT use any tool, including plastic ones, as you will damage the USB-C cable. Instead, bend the housing as shown in the picture. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media When bent enough, the cable and plug should be able to pass through the channel relatively easily. Repeat the same technique when trying to remove the housing after the fun has run out. I used the edge of my mouse pad, which is soft but provides a useful bump, so I can bend the housing by sitting the housing on it, pressing down on the two sides of the housing with one hand, and route the USB-C cable with my other hand. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media
