Description

The original rear guard plates for Design8Studio's excellent minimal enclosure lack any screws in the middle, where the two plates connect. The locking grooves are not enough to keep them attached to the printer body. They must therefore be glued together, attached with double-sided tape or similar. This remix takes advantage of the screw just above the joints where the top and bottom guard plates meet. Adding a screw hole to thread this screw through the top guard plates (C1 and D1) is enough to keep both plates firmly attached, C2 and C2 being held in place using the locking grooves. These plates are a drop-in replacement for the guard plates in the original minimal enclosure kit, no additional adjustment required. If the backside in my photos looks a little strange, that's because I was running out of black PETG and had to switch to transparent for the last few layers. Needless to say I was not anticipating having to print an extra set of guard plates during the enclosure build.
