Description

This is a digital recreation of one of my most popular geocaches. Here's the player experience: they find the cache and remove the plug from the side to find a well containing a small screwdriver. They then use the screwdriver to open the box's lid, only to see the message "THE CACHE IS IN YOUR HAND!" Upon inspecting the screwdriver the player realizes that the end is removable, and there is the log sheet. You're going to need a few things aside from these files: Four (4) 1-inch 1/4x20 machine screws Four (4) 1/4x20 nuts (just buy a four-pack of matching screws and nuts) One (1) stubby screwdriver with a removable end to store more bits Super glue Instructions: Print the files. I'd suggest 3 walls for added strength, use PETG if it's going to be outside in the weather. Glue the nuts into the matching holes in the box. Be careful not to get glue in the threads. Attach the lid using the machine screws. Glue the bit that matches your screws into the screwdriver so it never gets lost. Discard the other bits. Place the log in the emptied-out screwdriver where the bits used to live. Put it in the well on the side of the box and use the plug to close it up. I have a few variations for you to choose from. A lid with and without the Geocaching game piece imprint, and a box with or without a slot to feed a cable through if you want to physically tether the cache to something to keep it from wandering off. I'd suggest including a few extra screws in a baggie in the well just in case any get lost while people are puzzling out the cache.
