Description
I made these little plastic rivets to replace the broken pins on the arms of my vacuum flap actuators on my Mercedes. These fit through the little hole on the end of the vacuum actuator arm. I could have used a screw but I wanted a more elegant solution similar to the original fastener. I made two types. One with the expanding mushroom head. The other with a groove and C-clip. Both work well on my Main air flap behind my glove box on my 1985 Mercedes 300D. I had to drill out the existing plastic rivet that had broken apart. I used a 13/64" drill bit on the plastic arm to make a hole. It's roughly 5mm which is the nominal diameter of the pin and hole on the arm.
