Description
The Rod Sloth by NeedItMakeIt is very cool, but my printer, the Anycubic Kobra, has a Tr8x4 leadscrew (i.e., 8mm diam, 2mm pitch, 2-start, 4mm lead.) This is a completely remodeled version of the Rod Sloth that fits this type of screw. Because the design is so heavily based on the design of the Rod Sloth I have marked it as a remix. I did not include all the fancy bits from the original design like the knurling. See the Rod Sloth page for usage instructions and videos. I used a cut off strip of Harbor Freight microfiber towel, singed the edges where I cut it so it wouldn't unravel further, and carefully pulled off any loose fuzz before running it on the leadscrew. I recommend 0.2mm or 0.15mm layer heights. I printed mine in 0.3mm layer height and it worked fine, but the threads should be more accurate at smaller heights. I used 10% infill in PLA, 2 perimeters.
