Description
I've really been really enjoying @MartinRigatoni 's roomerang. I've been looking at other kinds of boomerangs and wondering what can be done with this lightweight, indoor safe design. I tried a couple of 2-winged designs that failed pretty hard. I had tried making a slightly heavier version of Martin's 3-winged design and they work but they're not great. This made me think adding more would be a mistake. After a while I went ahead and tried this 4-winged design out of boredom and I'm surprised at how well it works. It's not better than Martin's original, but it's not really worse either. You have to make sure it's got plenty of spin, but the extra wind resistance makes it return pretty slowly. So if you have trouble catching the original design this might be easier for you. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Printing This operates just like Martin's design. Just let your build plate cool down, gently peel off the Roomerang and crease the wings. I get the best results when I crease them on a stiff 90 degree angle and then go back and try to re-flatten them. You really just want a subtle bend. I've included a version of the file that can be thrown with your right hand and one that can be thrown with your left hand. If you got some kind of third hand I don't know what to tell you, man. Life's a bitch. Playing Throwing is the same, hold it vertically, push forward and flick your wrist at the end. The trick is to just put a medium amount of energy into it. If you try and throw a strike it's just going to smack into the ceiling.
