Description
Minimalist blade-shaped bow tie to reinforce any rowing identity you enjoy. The printing process is fairly straightforward with supports needed only for the joint centre and a bit of each blade (which I recommend printing upright (as in, with the normal vector to the main area of the blade in the x-y plane) to hide layer lines). For painting feel free to follow your favourite youtube tutorials, etc. I used a Tamiya white primer (after some sanding) on top of which I applied Tamiya acrylic paint and fixed the surface with (non-Tamiya) gloss varnish. Any sort of string of sufficiently narrow diameter (~2.5 mm) can be used to secure the bow tie. The design incorporates a small arch on its backside for this purpose (as shown in one of the photos.) The model of the blade is directly based on the Concept2 Comp blade .. Hence please try to avoid any mischievous commercial use of the design which might tempt Concept2 to take it down. Thaanks!
