Description
First off: Special thanks to Whity for his rugged solution - This is a remix of his great design. 2023.05.05 - Added the “wide” box, where the inside width was increased from 70mm to 100mm to accomodate those extra long USB sticks. Motivation: I have too many USB sticks and was looking for a way to sort them. Existing USB cases just didn't meet my needs and expectations. I love Peli cases Features: Two different types of USB rails to choose from - Vertical for maximum storage and horizontal so you can see what is written on them. Both USB type A and C can be used. Provisions for a carrying strap (stroller carabiner) Stacking feature which presses in to allow for a clean stacking of the boxes Replaced the bolts with machinist's pins (3x40mm) for a clean look Addition of stress-relief features in case you printer has different tolerances. The parts will expand / crack at a given location and not compromise the overall integrity. Updated the tolerances and press locations for the pins to make for a cleaner look. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media What you need: 6x cylindrical pins 3x30 mm ca 50 cm x 2mm diameter rubber seal (optional) Baby stroller carabiner as a strap How to Assemble: It should be pretty straight forward from the pictures. For the hinge and latch, the cylindrical pin should only bind in the larger portion connected to the base. This makes the assembly and pressing in of the pins much easier 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media I used large channel-lock pliers to slowly push the pins into the hinges. The orientation feature should just press into the bottom of the housing. Worse case, a couple drops of glue will keep it in place. 2022.01.07 Update: A version without the stap-holder has also been added. Happy printing!
