Description
SCORPIO I – Retro Terminal Computer SCORPIO I is a retro-futuristic industrial desktop terminal inspired by classic computer consoles from the 1970s and 1980s. The design combines vintage terminal aesthetics with modern compact computing hardware, creating a unique desktop machine that feels like a computer from an alternate technological era. The project brings a retro control-terminal look with modern components hidden inside a compact 3D-printed chassis. The terminal features an angled display panel, a front speaker grille area, front control elements and a base section designed to accommodate a compact mechanical keyboard. The keyboard used as reference for the design is the Royal Kludge RK61, a 60% mechanical keyboard that (hopefully) fits into the base area of the terminal. The display area was designed around the same screen used in the Callisto Fallout project, allowing visual compatibility between both machines. TouchScreen model JRP7006 7 INCH. For power control, the design can use the same power button used in the Callisto REMIX Fallout computer if you decide to install a full mini-PC motherboard or similar hardware inside the case. On the front panel there is also an audio opening, allowing builders to install a small internal speaker so the terminal can output sound directly from inside the case. Hardware concept The design was created primarily to house compact computing systems, such as: • Mini PCs (for example Beelink mini PCs) • Raspberry Pi • Orange Pi or similar single-board computers At the moment, the internal space of the design does not support Mini-ITX motherboards without modifications. If you wish to install a Mini-ITX motherboard or larger components, you will likely need to modify the model Project status This project is still a work in progress. The current release represents the first 3D model version of Scorpio I. The model has not yet been physically printed, so builders should print and test it at their own risk. Future revisions may include improvements to internal mounting points, cable routing and hardware compatibility. About the creator I am not a professional 3D modeler, only a hobbyist from the maker community who enjoys designing retro-inspired computer projects. I hope you enjoy the design and feel free to remix, modify and adapt the model if necessary. This is the first model in the series: SCORPIO I
