Description
Each letter can be printed individually and then assembled using super glue. The parts are designed and scaled so that the holes align perfectly when joined together. For printing, I scaled the STL files down to 80% and used 10% infill, which worked very well and kept material usage efficient. An LED strip—slightly over three meters in my case—is fed through the letters. To make sure the strip stays exactly where it should, I fixed it at several points along the bottom using hot glue. The power cable is routed out behind the Y, so there is no visible cable exit on the sides. This allows the lamp to either stand freely or be mounted on a wall, depending on how it is used. The covers are printed in white, preferably matte white, and then attached to the letters. They can be clicked into place and, if needed, additionally secured with super glue if the fit is not perfectly tight. This project was made as a birthday gift for my brother, and it was very well received. He now uses it at his new workstation in an auto repair shop, where he can switch it on whenever he is there. It looks great and adds a personal touch to his workspace. Please take note of the original files by MIPI3D and the instructions by T-D3SIGN.
