Description

This is not scale , nor do I claim it to be! (I just don't like G-Gauge, as that term is technically incorrect) When I say proportionally correct, I mean it looks to be a good height next to 20.1/20.3/F scale models, but if you take a scale ruler to it the under-sizing becomes quite apparent. I scaled this to the Bachmann Big Haulers porter, which is a scale twelve feet tall . Actual 22.5 scale figures barely fit on the platforms! You have been warned. (Taller parts do exist for more scale-like appearance) Special printing instructions All parts except for the railings and roof are in correct print orientation! The roof can be bedded on either end, facing upright. The railings have to be printed on one specific face, as usual for my designs. I recommend printing in PETG or ABS for durability. PLA will warp if left or even used outside! (Ask me how I know) Roof: May benefit from supports in smoke-jack hole, or a brim Body & Interior: May benefit from a brim to prevent warping Railings: These have a small notch in the middle! Pay attention, as that should face up. Historical basis There isn't one, I just threw a bunch of small cabeese together to make this abomination. Typically though, the bobber caboose was used on smaller logging lines for crew and tool transport. This one takes inspiration from Bachmann & Lionel cabeese of similar outline. Hardware/Non-printed parts 8x #4 x 3/4" Screws (I use leftover ones from Kadee) Kadee 830/930 couplers. You'll need one pair. Optional: Clear plastic for window glazing Assembly Slot the interior into the body Take the sideframes, add wheels, & slot into chassis. Screw body onto chassis - Screw holes located underneath the chassis. Make sure the screws secure the interior too! Screw/glue on railings to chassis. Slot roof on. Should be a simple friction-fit, but blu-tack may help Add couplers to chassis (Kadee 830/930) Notes Interior is separate to make painting easier! Also helps if you want to print it in a different color or something. Said interior is a mish-mash of several cabeese, and whatever I thought looked good enough. It has the most common features, like a lamp, a stove, some storage, & a cabinet. The crate might be a bit unrealistic, but I needed to hide the screws somehow. The smokejack on Interior.stl may struggle to print, but the cabinet should make for a good cooling tower. Still slow the print down if you can! Suggested paint Roof, Chassis, Handrail, & Sideframes: Flat Black Body: Dark Red Crest: White Interior: Sand Green/Tan, whatever works best for you
